Today, the groom, his parents and immediate family members visit the house of the future bride to ask for her hand. Guests traditionally bring with them an engagement ring, flowers, a bottle of brandy and sweet treats. At the same time, the girl\u2019s parents don’t set the table until the family representatives meet, negotiations are held and the groom and bride’s father come to an agreement.
